Why do peptide side-effect conversations feel so incomplete?

What should someone know about possible side effects before considering a peptide product, especially when the evidence is limited?

Possible effects are product-specific, and evidence can be limited for unapproved products. Concerns may include expected pharmacologic effects, allergic or immune reactions, interactions, and quality or sterility problems. A product label, FDA safety communication, and a clinician or pharmacist are better sources for a specific product than general testimonials. Seek urgent care for a possible emergency.

A list of possible effects is only part of the picture. I want to know how strong the evidence is, who was studied, and whether the product itself was well characterized.
